The Ab Lounge allows for a greater range of motion than standard crunches – it strengthens your back as well as your abs. The strap that you hold onto above your head keeps you from damaging your abdominals by doing the crunch correctly. It lets you arch your back while crunching to isolate your abs and core muscle group, giving you a more effective workout – more results per crunch. The main thing is, I’m arching my back in the opposite way from when I’m sitting at my desk, which is a welcome relief and just what I need to do.
I Actually Enjoy Exercising Now
It doesn’t hurt the way crunches do and actually makes crunches fun! The pain and the burn is still there, but instead of that keeping me away from exercising, it actually encourages me.
Works Really Well, Even In Front of The TV
The Ab Lounge is so well constructed and well-designed. Its virtually silent when I’m working out (except for my grunts) and I set it up in front of the TV so the time just flies by when I’m working out. I’d recommend this to anyone who wants to look better, feel better, or make their back feel better. I’m not a gym guy and I’ve had no trouble getting on the Ab Lounge every day – a feat in itself.

the back kept sliding out, i sat on it and it went straight to the floor. i got my finger caught, thank god it didnt’ cut. am i doing something wrong?
Remember – its not a chair – its not meant to support you in sitting – you have to use your ab muscles to keep the chair upright. Make sure you read the instructions before using it…
Can you get parts anywhere?
You can’t purchase Ab Lounge parts individually directly from Ab Lounge. The best idea, if you want to avoid buying a new one, is to check Craigslist and Ebay for used Ab Lounges to scavenge parts from. Good luck!
